A Real Mum....
1. Knows that love for a child does not grow in a woman's womb, but in her heart.
2. Finds a backbone she didn't know she had in order to stand up for what her child needs.
3. Gets up every 4 hours for weeks on end to give neb treatments to her asthmatic child.
4. Puts stickers on her shower/bathtub ceiling so that her child looks up and doesn't get water in her eyes while rinsing out the shampoo at bath time.
5. Comes running every time she hears the phrases "Wipe the butt" or "I need a tissue".
6. Is overjoyed and devastated at every milestone her child reaches.
7. Reads "10 Little Monkeys" for the 100th time this week, because it happens to be the current "fa-wit".
8. Tries really hard to teach her daughter that yelling "Momma, I warted!" from the other room is not polite behavior (even though she's desperately trying not to laugh at the way she pronounces farted!).
9. Counts to 10 to try to calm herself down over 30 times in one morning while trying to getting ready for work, because she's dealing with an independent two-year-old who wants to "do it myself!"
10. Thanks God every day that he trusted her ability as a parent enough to give her this precious child.
That's what I have. Now I tag, Barb, Laura, Dawn, and Jamie. You're IT!
That was awesome Kari - and you are an awesome Mom. You certainly put Onna's needs ahead of your own - she is so blessed!
