A poem, written for me by my grandma, that she revised for Onna:
8th December, 2004
I waited anxiously for that great day,
anticipating with joy that only
great grandmothers know.
My first, my very own!
and still as I beheld this miracle
develop, I could not help but utter
a silent prayer that all would be well.
The gift of life, given to us by God;
to live, to love, to learn, and yes, to die.
Time was fulfilled; His grace was sufficient.
All was well for mother and new baby.
And there, in the bundle of pink blankets
was the wonder and beauty of our Creator.
Praise the Lord; yes,
praise His name forever.
