Zoo Trip

This is our group that went to the zoo (Onna is in the front row with the pink bonnet). Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there. Maybe next year we will be luckier. The kids still managed to have fun. Onna was pretty scared of most of the animals. She did okay with the smaller ones, but anything that was bigger than her was " 'cary!'

We were able to have an animal encounter while we were there. The kids were able to pet a millipede (gross!), a turtle, a gecko, and a hedgehog (pictured). Onna said the hedgehog was "pik-re".

At the petting zoo the Onna enjoyed feeding the goats. There were baby goats there too, but it was hard to get pictures of them. Onna really liked the feeding them, and letting them lick her fingers. There were also donkeys there and Onna said the one donkey kept saying "SHREK!"

Onna had a lot of fun spending time with her friend. They sang songs, especially "winkle, winkle" all the way home!

After we got home, we stopped at Myra's work to her all about our trip. Onna was already wet and muddy so when she decided to play in the mud, Myra decided to help her out. She found out the hard way that holding Onna's hand while she splashed would end up with BOTH of them getting covered in mud!

  1. Onna and her friend are so adorable, Kari. I love the way they're holding hands.

We have yet to go to the zoo here with Alex -- or the butterfly garden. They're definitely on my "to do" list this summer.

Is that zoo similar to the SF zoo?
