Ingalls Homestead

Jessica came to visit for a week. While she was here we did lots of fun things. We swam a lot at the Howard Pool, and once at the Madison Pool. We went to the Corn Palace and we also went to the Ingalls Homestead near DeSmet. The girls had a lot of fun there.
The tried out lots of different buggies. They learned how to wash laundry by hand with homemade soap.

Onna was not impressed with the dugout home.

They even got to go to country school.

They enjoyed seeing all the animals, and making corncob dolls and rope. After a hot day on the prairie we all appreciated the luxuries of our air conditioned home with indoor plumbing.
